Direct answer: Choose a resistance band by the movement you want to train, not by colour alone. Lighter bands are better for mobility, warm-ups and technique work; medium bands suit general strength exercises; heavier bands add more load and can provide more assistance during supported pull-ups. A multi-band set is the most flexible choice if you train several movements.

Which resistance band should a beginner choose?
Start with the lightest band that still gives useful resistance without changing your form. Beginners usually need different resistance levels for different movements, which is why a set is easier to progress with than one very heavy band.
Why does one exercise need a different band from another?
Muscle groups, leverage and range of motion differ between exercises. A band that feels appropriate for rows or lower-body work may be too strong for shoulder mobility or technique practice.
Which band is best for pull-up assistance?
Heavier loop bands generally provide more assistance because they resist stretching with more force. Use enough assistance to complete controlled repetitions, then move gradually to a lighter band as strength improves. Always use a secure bar and inspect the band before loading it.
Single band or Set of 5?
Choose one band if you already know the exact resistance range you use most.
Choose the Set of 5 if you want to train several movements, share bands between users, or progress gradually from lighter to heavier resistance. The current YETI YOGI set includes five natural-latex loop bands and a carry pouch, with a catalog-listed packed weight of approximately 600 g.
What are YETI YOGI resistance bands made from?
The current YETI YOGI Resistance Loop Band range is listed as natural latex. Inspect bands regularly for cuts, cracks, thinning or damage, keep them away from sharp edges, and store them away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
Quick questions
Should beginners always use the lightest band?
No. Use the lightest band that still challenges the specific movement without affecting control.
Is a heavier band always harder?
For strength exercises, generally yes. For pull-up assistance, a heavier band can actually make the movement easier because it offsets more bodyweight.
Can one resistance band train the whole body?
One band can cover many exercises, but different movements often need different resistance levels. A set is more versatile.
How often should I inspect a latex band?
Check it before each session for visible damage, especially around stretched or contact areas.
